NorthCal, formerly the Whangarei & County Pipe Band, is currently the only competitive pipe band between the Harbour Bridge and Cape Reinga. NorthCal has a rich history and strong connections in the Whangarei and wider Northland areas, having been a hub of Scottish culture and musical excellence for over 75 years.

In recent years NorthCal has experience a musical resurgence, which culminated in the Grade 3 championship title in 2014 and moving into Grade 2, as well as greater interest and support in the band and its activities from the wider Northland community. As NorthCal continues to push its boundaries both musically and professionally, it appreciates the support of Northlanders and any interest people may have in joining as a competitive player or supporter.
